Na noite deste domingo (12) aconteceu no Staples Center, em Los Angeles (EUA) a 59ª edição do Grammy Awards. Com James Corden comandando a apresentação da cerimônia, os vencedores do Grammy são escolhidos pelos membros da National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences dos Estados Unidos (Academia Nacional de Artes de Gravação e Ciência dos EUA).
Beyoncé foi a artista que recebeu o maior número de indicações, ao todo a cantora concorreu em nove categorias. Atrás dela, aparecem Drake, Rihanna e Kanye West, cada um indicado oito vezes. Apesar disso, a maior vencedora da noite foi a cantora Adele, que levou 5 Grammys.
Os brasileiros marcaram presença na edição deste ano: Caetano Veloso e Gilberto Gil concorrem na categoria "melhor álbum de world music" por "Dois Amigos, Um Século De Música: Multishow Live"; o Trio da Paz (Romero Lubambo, Nilson Matta e Duduka da Fonseca) concorreu com "30" em "melhor álbum de jazz latino". Infelizmente nenhum dos brasileiros ganharam.
